Don’t Change Your Tub, Change Your Shower Curtain Rod
When first thinking about remodeling a bathroom, most people look at the tub. If the tub is old and a little dingy, a new tub might be just what you need. Before you go through the trouble of taking the old tub out and putting in a new one, consider your alternatives. There are some ways that you can have a new tub placed over top of the old one. But perhaps it’s not the age of the tub that bothers you, but the size.
Most people have tubs that do double duty as showers. The vast majority of shower tubs are the same size, 30×60. Even though most are the same, sometimes it just seems like some tubs are a little more cramped than others. Do you feel like you need a little more elbow room in the shower? If you’re always rubbing up against the shower curtain and can’t turn around easily, don’t think about getting a new, bigger tub, just get a different shower curtain rod.
How can a shower curtain rod make your tub bigger? There are new rods called curved shower curtain rods. These rods can increase the space in your shower by up to 6 inches. The ends of the rod start and stop in the same place, but the rod curves in the middle.
You don’t have to worry about water getting in the tub because the curtain still stays in the tub. You don’t even have to get a bigger curtain. You spend a lot of time in the bathroom, so it should be comfortable. Give yourself some elbow room by getting a curved shower curtain rod.
Don’t think about a full remodel of your bathroom. Many times just changing some small things can make a big difference. When you get the curved shower curtain rod, you can get them in different styles to match or change your decor. The rod does have to be anchored, you can’t use the kind that is spring loaded and fit up against the wall. The curved rods usually come with several different types of anchors to secure it to the wall.
When you get a new curtain rod, also think about getting a new shower curtain to add a little more flair to your bathroom.
